Preparing Quality Practitioners in Colleges

Initiative idea

The initiative is based on delivering a series of training programs related to quality practices and academic accreditation. Participants who successfully complete all training sessions will be awarded a Quality Practitioner Certificate at the university.

Initiative Objectives

  1. Prepare a group of quality practitioners across different colleges.
  2. Increase the university’s portfolio of nationally and internationally accredited programs.
  3. Expand the number of quality experts within the university.
  4. Strengthen the culture of quality and academic accreditation within the university.

 

Importance of the Initiative

Excellence in teaching and learning is one of the university’s key strategic goals, achieved by ensuring graduates acquire the skills and knowledge required for the labor market. This can be guaranteed through obtaining national and international program accreditation. To facilitate program accreditation, there must be quality practitioners equipped with the expertise and skills necessary in quality and academic accreditation.

 

Implementation Activities

Delivering a series of training programs related to quality practices and academic accreditation, whereby participants who successfully complete all sessions receive a Quality Practitioner Certificate from the university.

 

Summary of Achievements and Number of Beneficiaries

More than 25 training hours were delivered on the following topics:

  • Designing and reviewing academic programs; the National Qualifications Framework and Unified Level Classification.
  • Formulating and measuring learning outcomes.
  • Writing course specifications and course reports.
  • Institutional and program accreditation standards, performance indicators, measurement, and benchmarking.
  • Writing program specifications and annual program reports.
  • Self-evaluation and preparing the Self-Study Report (SSR).

A total of 40 male and female trainees from various university colleges participated.

 

Expected Outcomes

  • Increase the number of programs that obtain national and international programmatic accreditation.
  • Expand the number of quality experts and practitioners at the university.
  • Enable a number of faculty members to acquire skills and knowledge related to quality and academic accreditation requirements.
  • Enhance the skills of quality practitioners at the university.
